This striking Racoon is the first offspring of the mare Luna, who passed the mare test with high marks and a total of 82 points. Ridden by Jessica Nijpjes, Luna has already achieved good results in the Small Tour, and the pair even served as reserves for the Dutch team for the World Championships for seven-year-old horses last year. Granddam Elmara is a half-sister to the Grand Prix horse Zapatero 6 (s.Rousseau) of Anke Ungur and the ZZ-Zwaar (fifth) level horse Glamour Girl (s.Apache). In the third generation, this line traces back to a half-sister of Roger Schulkens’s international Grand Prix horse Rapsodie T (s.Gribaldi). From this direct damline, international (U25)Grand Prix horses such as Cavanillas-W (s.Florett As) and Equirelle W (s.Florett As) originate as well, just like the Small Tour stallion Cum Laude (s.Apache). Racoon’s sire is the double World Champion of young dressage horses, Kjento, who seems to fulfill all high expectations in both sport and breeding.
