Nick Z is a half-brother to the 5* Grand Prix horse Iwalinde (s. Zirocco Blue VDL), who under William Fletcher won two 1.50m and 1.55m-level classes last year in Vejer de la Frontera. The national 1.45m horse Elektro (s.Douglas), competed by Arabel McFarland, also comes out of the same dam as Nick Z. Dam Zwalinde herself performed at 1.35m-level after scoring well as a young horse in the mare test. She is a half-sister to, among others, the international 1.45m-level horse Chaperon (s.Quaprice Z), and this direct family also produced the 1.55m-level horse Venus and the 1.45m-placed Zangersheide stallion Don Tarpania Z. Nick Z comes from the first crop of Notting Hill JL, a son of World Champion Cumano and the Olympic mare Valentina van ’t Heike, who is at the start of his international sport career.
